Alfredo Adame posted the false obituary on Instagram early in the morning, prompting thousands of comments and shares.

Alfredo Adame posted an Instagram notice claiming that Laura Bozzo had died, sparking immediate controversy across social media. The image appeared on his personal feed early in the morning and was quickly shared by thousands of users, generating a surge of comments and speculation.

False obituary sparks backlash

The post featured a black ribbon, white flowers, candles and the phrase “Descansa en paz,” framed as a traditional obituary. The visual layout resembled a formal death notice that many followers recognised from past announcements.

In the caption, the former star praised the TV personality’s long-standing television career despite a history of public disagreements. He highlighted her influence on daytime programming and referenced several of her most memorable shows.

Later that day, Alejandra de la Fuente, the host’s daughter, issued a statement denying any death and urging the public to stop spreading rumors.

Adame says he acted on early messages

According to the entertainer, a WhatsApp alert arrived at about 5 a.m., informing him that the presenter had passed away. The notification displayed a brief text that appeared to come from a contact he trusted.

The first message read, “Alfredo, she died,” and was followed ten minutes later by two more messages from unknown contacts repeating the claim. Each follow-up reinforced the impression that the information was genuine.

Relying on those alerts, he posted a brief tribute that began, “Laurita hermosa… I’m sorry for your loss, may God keep you in glory.” The tribute included a photo collage that combined the ribbon graphic with a portrait of the media figure.

He later said the rapid succession of messages convinced him the news was credible enough to share. He added that the timing of the alerts left little opportunity to verify the story before publishing his response.

Correction, relationship claims and medical comments

After the daughter’s denial, the actor removed the original notice and posted a clarification acknowledging the mistake. In the follow-up, he wrote that he had acted in good faith based on the information he received.

He subsequently added a tongue-in-cheek comment that the presenter “was not let into heaven and was sent back.” The remark was intended as a humorous attempt to defuse the tension surrounding the false report.

Despite the dispute, he asserted that he maintains a close bond with the host, noting that his representative helped secure a VIP mansion contract for her. The claim highlighted an ongoing professional connection between the two figures.

He also recounted a conversation with a hospital director who described the TV personality’s condition as “very critical.” The director’s assessment was conveyed during a conversation that the actor said took place shortly after the alleged incident.

The medical official reportedly said she was intubated at a high setting and in an induced vegetative-like state. That description suggested a severe level of medical intervention, according to the source.

Medical details, public reaction and responsibility

Hospital records show the presenter was admitted on 13 October after severe abdominal pain led to emergency surgery for a perforated duodenal ulcer.

Complications included sepsis and pneumonia, prompting a transfer to the Hospital General de México for specialized care.

The entertainer defended his tone, emphasizing that his relationship with the presenter is “pure fun” despite past controversies. He argued that the exchange was meant in a lighthearted spirit rather than as a malicious claim.

No independent medical source has confirmed the director’s description, and the false death claim remains retracted. The correction now stands as the official record of the event. The presenter remains hospitalized, and according to reports, her health continues to be delicate.
